Hike, bike, dirt bike or drive to beautiful Nickel Plate Lake. Just 6 kilometers from the resort, Nickel Plate combines the challenge of alpine fishing with the serenity of the mountains. 

Weddings - How about a Mountain Top!
Imagine a carpet of wild flowers at your feet and magnificent mountain views as a backdrop to your most special day. Follow the ceremony with a fully customized reception in the Gunbarrel Restaurant, then party in the bar.  When booking a minimum of 10 units receive a complimentary condo with a private hot tub for the bride and groom.

Horseback Riding

Mine Tours

The Mascot Mine has guided tours out of Hedley, just 45 minutes from the resort, while the mine itself is just 15 minutes away.  It may be possible to book a group tour and meet the tour bus at the mine site if you are staying at the resort.  Check out the website for additional information http://www.mascotmine.com

 

Paragliding

Jump off the back of the mountain by the Mascot Mine, just 15 minutes from the resort, and glide down to the Similkameen Valley below. 

 

At Apex Resort, you’re only a short drive (approximately 30 minutes) away from the Okanagan Valley, BC's summer playground with every kind of fun in the sun.

 

Beaches

For a little relaxation and quality family time, Penticton offers two warm-water lakes lined with soft sand beaches. Families can sunbath, rent bikes or stroll the promenade along Skaha Beach. More adventurous families can travel to Okanagan Beach to indulge in water activities such as waterskiing, parasailing, jet skiing, canoeing and kayaking. Boat rentals are also available from several beaches in Penticton, BC. For the little tykes in the family, the children's water park and amusement centre offer many fun beach and outdoor activities.

 

Winery Tours

The Okanagan is home to 121 wineries (and growing) and 3,000 hectares (7,400 acres) of vineyards that produce some of the finest wines in the world. Penticton is located in the centre of this legendary Wine Country of British Columbia that encompasses Naramata, Summerland, Okanagan Falls, West Kelowna, Kelowna, Osoyoos, and Oliver where over 80 percent of BC’s wine grapes are grown. Almost all wineries in the Okanagan are less than an hour’s drive in any direction from Penticton.

 

Golf

The Okanagan Valley offers one of the longest golf seasons in Canada. Golfers have a choice of seven championship and twenty-one additional courses within the Penticton area. Nestled in vineyards, carved from canyons, or appearing like an oasis on the desert landscape, golfers enjoy spectacular views and natural hazards that challenge every level.

This climbing area is one of the top five climbing destinations in North America and draws climbers from all over the world.

Kettle Valley Trail

Penticton is privileged to be at the cross roads of the Kettle Valley Trail (KVR Trail), with trail access right in Penticton. Those who enjoy hiking and biking can make a day-trip along the Kettle Valley Trail which envelopes stunning Okanagan Lake, Skaha Lake and Okanagan Falls.
